World cup new technology; vanishing spray.

In football, referees are usually known to carry whistles and the famous ‘cards’ used for creating discipline among players but this year’s World cup comes with an additional item, the vanishing spray.
A vanishing spray will be used to mark out free-kicks for the first time at a major soccer event, FIFA World Cup 2014 which kicks offs today in Brazil. Free-kick is a component of football which can occur anywhere in the football pitch.

Vanishing spray is a substance applied to a sports field in order to provide a temporary visual marker for use by both players and referees for the purposes of ensuring fair. The water-based spray disappears about a minute after use.
Referees will be armed with the spray during matches to mark a line on the ground where the defensive wall, and ball, must be stationed during free-kicks
World football governing body FIFA gave greenlight to the use of the spray last year December after it was successfully tried in the FIFA club world cup.  FIFA president Sebb blatter said the spray will ensure 9.5 metre distance between the ball and players during free kicks is observed.
