'Minions' Children's word of the year 2014



Oxford Dictionaries recently announced ‘Minion’ as Children’s word of the year 2014.
What is a minion?  Where does it originate from?

Minions are  small sizeable and cylindrical creatures who have one or two wide eyes and metallic goggles as inspired by the g 2013 movie Despicable me Gru and Lego movie 0f 2014. Despicable me Gru portrays this creatures as hardworking and does weird interactions with people.
In the Lego movie themed ‘minions are awesome’ this minions are made parody of real actors in the movie so as to create humour in the scenes.
With their interesting roles in this movies minions captivate children’s attention thus it was announced children’s word of the year 2014 by the Oxford Dictionaries.
