This is where mobile service providers offer
mobile phone services as mobile
virtual network operators
(MVNOs), a new licensing regime
where operators are not required
to lay their own infrastructure but
to ride on established structures.

MVNOs will ride on communications
infrastructure networks of existing
Mobile Network Operators to provide
cellular mobile services to end users
including customer registration, SIM
cards issuance, billing and customer
care.

Equity bank will soon be a MVNO using Airtel existing infrastructures to offer mobile phone services.In this case Airtel will provide platform for infrastructures for Equity bank to offer mobile phone services.
